Na'Shaun Lamar Neal
NA’SHAUN LAMAR NEAL is an attorney at PLC Law Group. His primary focus is civil rights litigation, where he specializes in police misconduct and employment discrimination. Mr. Neal has experience in federal and state courts.
Over the course of his career, he has successfully resolved cases on behalf his clients in personal injury matters, police misconduct, and employment discrimination. Additionally, he is a member of our appellate team that has successful argued before the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and California Court of Appeals.
As a result of his hard work, our team has several published opinions that extend civil rights protections against police misconduct:
Kenneth Simmons v. The Superior Court of San Diego, et al. (No. D070734)
Foster v. City of Indio, No. 17-55167
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Neal clerked for the Honorable Raner C. Collins of the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona (2008-2010) and Honorable Arenda L. Wright Allen of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia (2011-2013). While clerking, Mr. Neal worked on a wide range of civil and criminal matters, at all states of litigation, involving complex procedural issues and intricate questions of law. Following his clerkship, Mr. Neal served as a Deputy Attorney General in the Appeals, Writs and Trial section of the Criminal Division for the California Attorney’s General, where he represented the state during felony appeals process and habeas corpus proceedings.
Mr. Neal is a “Double-Bruin” having received two degrees from UCLA: his undergraduate degree in Political Science (2004), and his juris doctorate (2008). Mr. Neal is licensed to practice law in California, Arizona and several federal courts.
Mr. Neal is also active in his local community. He provides pro bono services with the National Action Network-Los Angeles Chapter’s monthly legal night clinic. He serves on John Langston Bar Association’s Civil Rights Committee. He also serves as Vice President of the UCLA Black Alumni Association and his local alumni chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc
